LIFE INSURANCE

Executive Staff has $100,000 policy that the city provides
Management has $50,000 policy the city provides
Rank & File has $10,000 policy the city provides

In addition, all full-time employees have the option to purchase an additional life insurance
$20K & $20K AD&D for themselves. If they purchase the additional coverage they can then elect to cover their family. $10K for their spouse, $2,500 for child(ren) over six months, and $100 for child(ren) from 14 days to six months. The additional insurance is at a 60/40 shared cost with the city picking up 60% of the premium.

DENTAL INSURANCE

This is available to all full-time employees and their eligible family members. This is available at a 60/40 shared cost with the city picking up 60% of the premium.

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP)

This benefit is available to all full-time employees as well as members of their immediate family.
They are entitled to five sessions (face-to-face) for employee, dependents, and spouse per incident,
per policy year. These can include work & life services child care, elder care, financial and legal services,
identity theft recovery.

HEALTH INSURANCE

The city offers health insurance coverage with a 60/40 split on the premiums and up to $893.34 paid premium. We offer two (2) HMO plans and one (1) PPO plan.

DEFERRED COMP PLAN 457

This benefit applies only to the Public Safety Fire employees. The matched employer contributions are in $25.00 increments as follows:

First year of participation: EE contributes $25.00 per pay period & City will match $25.00 per pay period.
Second year: EE contributes $50.00 per pay period & City will match $50.00 per pay period.
Third year: EE contributes $75.00 per pay period & City will match $75.00 per pay period.
Fourth year: EE contributes $100.00 per pay period & City will match $100.00 per pay period.
Fifth year: EE contributes $125.00 per pay period & City will match $125.00 per pay period.
Sixth year: EE contributes $150.00 per pay period & City will match $150.00 per pay period.

BILINGUAL PAY

Eligible employees shall receive a 5% stipend for the use of their bilingual skills.

CAFETERIA PAY (applies to Confidential, Management, and Executive Employees only)

The City provides 3% of the total annual Executive, Mid-management and Confidential compensation
for implementation of a cafeteria Type plan. The employee can elect to take this benefit in pay, annual leave, or as a contribution to their 457 ICMA Deferred Comp account.

BENEFITS THAT APPLY ONLY TO SWORN POLICE EMPLOYEES

Post Certificate Incentive Pay

For Regular or Specialized Intermediate POST Certificate: 5% of base salary.
For Regular or Specialized Advanced POST Certificate: 2.5% of base salary.
Upon completion of ten (10) years of service as a Police Officer with the City of Hanford, employees
shall receive an additional 5% above their base wage in recognition of longevity pay.

Uniform allowance: $950 per year

Tuition reimbursement: $600 per fiscal year

EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PAY/MISC. BENEFITS FOR FIRE EMPLOYEES

For completion of an Associate or Bachelor degree: $40.00 per month
A certified Fire Officer Certificate for the State Board of Fire Services: 5% of base salary
Fire Fighters II Certificate: 2.5% of base salary
Chief Fire Office Certificate from the State Board of Fire Services: 5% of base salary

Uniform allowance: $1,000 per fiscal year

Tuition reimbursement: $1,000 per fiscal year

BENEFITS THAT APPLY TO MISCELLANEOUS RANK & FILE EMPLOYEES

Tuition reimbursement: $700 per fiscal year

Uniform Allowance:
Communications Dispatchers, PSO, Police Records Asst., Fire Inspector, AST: $600/FY
City will reimburse up to $167 for safety boots for EEs w/3 or more years of experience
City will provide one pair of safety glasses every two years, not to exceed $60.
