Definition

This is an entry-level, service worker position in the City's Parks & Recreation Department.  An individual in this position reports to the Recreation Superintendent and performs a variety of customer service duties at the City's Recreation & Tennis Center including, but not limited to, scheduling the use of the facility, maintaining and providing equipment to patrons, opening and closing the facility, as directed.

Examples of Work

  • Insure that all Recreation Center policies and procedures are explained to facility members and strictly enforced;
  • Promote and maintain good public relations and customer service with all members and prospective members at the Recreation Center;
  • Maintain the facility and equipment/supplies;
  • Recommend policy and procedure changes and activity and programming ideas;
  • Open and close facility at prescribed times; prepare and maintain attendance and revenue reports;
  • Manage revenues generated during said shift;
  • Work scheduled departmental special events;
  • Lift/carry tables, chairs and equipment to set up for meetings, athletic programs, and leisure classes;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, or Certification

High School Diploma or General Education Development Certificate and two years of related experience desired.

The Department of Human Resources & Organizational Development may consider any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

The City of Missouri City compensates employees according to a salary schedule that enables movement through a market based salary range. Generally, a new employee's salary is at or near the beginning of the range.

Part-time, contingent, seasonal, and temporary workers do not receive benefits.
