Definition

This is an entry-level, service worker position in the City's Parks & Recreation Department. An individual in this position reports to the Recreation Superintendent and performs a variety of customer service duties at the City's Recreation & Tennis Center including, but not limited to, scheduling the use of the facility, maintaining and providing equipment to patrons, opening and closing the facility, as directed.

Examples of Work

Insure that all Recreation Center policies and procedures are explained to facility members and strictly enforced;

Promote and maintain good public relations and customer service with all members and prospective members at the Recreation Center;

Maintain the facility and equipment/supplies;

Recommend policy and procedure changes and activity and programming ideas;

Open and close facility at prescribed times; prepare and maintain attendance and revenue reports;

Manage revenues generated during said shift;

Work scheduled departmental special events;

Lift/carry tables, chairs and equipment to set up for meetings, athletic programs, and leisure classes;

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, or Certification

High School Diploma or General Education Development Certificate and two years of related experience desired.

Supplemental Information

The Department of Human Resources & Organizational Development may consider any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

The City of Missouri City compensates employees according to a salary schedule that enables movement through a market based salary range. Generally, a new employee's salary is at or near the beginning of the range.
