Description

THIS IS A VOLUNTEER POSITION

About the opportunity:

The Communications Section would like to expand its Senior Check-in Program. Seniors in the program receive a call from a Communications Section staff member once a week. The call serves as a check in for the senior's health and well-being and provides quality interaction many of our seniors need.

Currently, only about five seniors are receiving a weekly check-in service from dispatchers, who often don't have much time on-duty to spend on these conversations. To expand the program, the Communications Section is looking for volunteers willing to join the program. Volunteers would be expected to take on a call or two a week on a long-term basis, as consistent contact with ongoing conversations is what drives this program.

VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Candidate's request will be evaluated based on his/her completed application and supplemental information form when a need is available. If you are not placed within six months, you can submit a new application; however, applications are kept for up to one year.
