Position Summary

This position is responsible for performing essential support work for all work performed in the health center kitchen, including the delivery and serving of food to residents.

Schedule:  This is a casual in-house pool position.  There are no set hours and the position fills in for vacant shifts.  Flexible availability is ideal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
 
Store, pull, transport, label, date, and dispose of food and food associated supplies and equipment, and wash and sanitize dishes and equipment.
 
Monitor and record temperatures of coolers and freezers throughout the facility.
 
Stock resident kitchen areas with required items.
 
Wash and sanitize equipment, carts and work areas including countertop, floor and wall surfaces. Use proper sanitation skills while disassembling food carts, cleaning and sanitizing pots and pans and restocking areas.
 
Transport unprepared and prepared food, equipment, carts and residents as required during all department operating hours.
 
Participate in and/or attend all in-service education, as appropriate for food service staff.
 
Demonstrate a commitment to county safety and risk management efforts.

Education and/or Experience
Some High School, and zero to six months of relevant prior experience. Basic knowledge of food safety required.

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing services and meeting quality standards.
Ability to learn, follow and explain departmental policies and procedures.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and/or divide quickly and correctly.
Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
