Job Description
Why does the job exist?
This position is responsible for managing large/complex network installations, including requesting information, evaluating proposals, overseeing work of others, verifying correct installation. This position provides network design, and hardware and software support. Position manages network projects and supports the network technologies, including voice, data, and/or video/image technologies.
How does it get done?
The IT Network Administrator III plans, designs, and implements network architecture, access, security, and services and will initiate network projects, including developing and documenting technical network designs, project plans, and procuring equipment and supplies. Incumbent will monitor network for stability, provide leadership and formulate long-term network plans. This position analyzes and evaluates security of the network and identifies network problems, develops solutions, and makes recommendations to management. This position provides training and will lead technical project teams to lower level IT staff.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering or similar technical degree and four (4) years of experience in network administration and design. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
