Description

TriMet's Enterprise Systems IT group acts in a support role to all divisions within the agency and is involved in nearly every facet of its operation.  From supporting integrations with 3rd party software to developing customized internal software that has a direct impact on agency operations, there is constant need for new tools that leverage data and technology.

The ideal candidate for the IT Systems Analyst position will be comfortable working in a collaborative environment, contributing and adhering to best practices for designing, developing, documenting, requirements-gathering, quality assurance, testing, training and implementing technology solutions at TriMet.  The candidate will be highly self-motivated, a quick learner, an effective catalyst for change and skilled at interacting with a large and diverse team through various mediums.  The candidate should also have a proven track record for successful project management, be comfortable wearing many hats, and adept at switching gears when priorities or policies change.  Other characteristics include a fondness for transparency, an inquisitive nature, the ability to explore solutions independently while keeping the agency initiatives in mind, and a desire for continuous improvement.
 
This position is focused on project management, assessing processes and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and documentation and delivery of core requirements in an iterative and timely manner.  It requires a Bachelor's degree and 8 years credited experience in a technical analytical role or a combination of education and experience. 
 
Required experience in one or more of the following areas:
 

  • Skilled at extracting business unit requirements from stakeholders and translating into technical requirements
  • Project management: Experience defining and implementing a multi-year cross-departmental project with multiple stakeholders
  • Knowledge of SDLC best practices
  • Comfort with training users on the use of applications or other technologies.
  • Expertise documenting software requirements and activities around software development, such as: use cases, unit tests, data-flow diagrams, training documentation
  • Direct work with a modern RDBMS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.); solid understanding of data architecture and database concepts
  • Data exploration: SQL query development, solid understanding of entity-relation diagrams and data dictionaries
  • Business intelligence report development (JasperStudio, Tableau, Crystal Reports, Birst, etc.)
Preferred experience in one or more of the following areas:
 
  • Familiarity with programming:  Understanding of general concepts, such as: API's, client-side and server-side development, design patterns
  • ADA compliance and testing awareness
  • UI/UX best practices
  • Iterative development methodologies (Agile, Continuous Delivery, Test Driven, Kanban, etc.)
  • Exposure to quality assurance in software, security/vulnerability testing, and functional UI testing methods

Salary Range:
Minimum: $75,195.00
Midpoint: $93,994.00
Maximum: $112, 793.00
