Mayor's Office of Communications
The Mayor's Office of Communications seeks a savvy, astute and accomplished Enterprise Engagement Manager who is passionate about Public Service, and highly adept at navigating and cultivating effective relationships with internal stakeholders across City agencies and departments, as well as related organizations which have the mission of promoting Baltimore and highlighting its competitive assets.
The successful candidate is a skilled, strategic thinker who understands the inter-connectedness of communications and is adept at using multiple channels and innovative approaches to engage key stakeholders in order to provide information and essential context in real-time as circumstances require. Reporting to the Director of Public Affairs and Executive Leadership Team, the Enterprise Engagement Manager will closely collaborate with Agencies teams and Chief Information Officers (CIOs).
Deliverables:
Communication Strategies:
Ensures communication of, and alignment with, key strategic priorities of the Mayor and the Administration across all City agencies and departments; Works collaboratively and regularly with Agency Chief Information Officers to identify opportunities to highlight and amplify progress against stated strategic objectives of the Administration; Maintains active schedule of "Mayor's Memo" distributions – highlighting essential communications while ensuring proper context and background for internal stakeholders; Drafts and reviews messages and scripts from department leaders to ensure consistency and strategic alignment; Prepares and implements communications and engagement strategies for Mayoral project/s; In partnership with other team members, prepares communications collateral for media releases, briefing notes, newsletters, correspondence, consultation documents, website content and other materials as required.
Thought Leadership:
Introduces new platforms for internal communication and engagement; Serves as a communications resource to ensure optimal positioning of news and information; Measures enterprise engagement with news and information; Plans, edits and writes content for a variety of internal communications mediums.
Stakeholder Partnerships:
Works closely with Digital Engagement Manager and Press Secretary, recognizing that external developments have internal implications; Works collaboratively with communications team to develop integrated plans and highlight proof-points that demonstrate execution of Administration priorities; Manages the delivery of engagement and communications services to include internal and external stakeholders; Identifies opportunities to demonstrate best practice engagement and communications approaches and strategies; Adopts a high level of collaborations within the Mayor's Office and other stakeholders to ensure a high degree of effectiveness, efficiency and achievement of Mayoral objectives.

- Skilled in effectively managing multiple competing and shifting priorities simultaneously.
- Experience managing and leading teams including goal setting, and developing and leading team activities. Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Experience dealing with diverse stakeholders. Excellent communications skills across multiple channels.
- Significant experience leading, developing and managing content for different communications and stakeholder group channels. Highly skilled influencer and orator.
- Experience working in a fast paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Affairs and/or related field.
Understanding of and genuine interest in Civic Government, Communications and Public Affairs.
Experience:
Minimum 5-8 years' experience working in Communications and or Public Affairs with demonstrated success preferably in public sector; or with significant responsibility for internal communications within complex organizational structures in the private sector.
