Job Responsibilities

The Department of Mental Health is a drug-free workplace.  All candidates will be required to pass a mandatory pre-employment drug test. 
                                                                                  
This position is located at the Department of Mental Health Crafts-Farrow, 7901 Farrow Rd, Columbia, SC 29203.

Works closely with Senior and project management staff to ensure construction and renovations meet Agency requirements. This includes defining scope of work for projects, developing estimates, procuring funding and coordinating work with internal sources and/or external contractors. 

Coordinates with OSE and third-party inspectors to ensure all applicable safety, regulatory and Joint Commission requirements are properly documented. 

Develops work plan(s); controls budget, scope and schedule to ensure project deliverables, milestones and required tasks completed as planned. Prepares status reports and provides updates to project stakeholders, sponsors, champion, etc. Coordinates requests and recommends changes from original specifications with project sponsor, project team, or stakeholders.

Develops and maintains project documentation, oversees project design to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, or agency's criteria, codes, and regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. 

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State Requirements: A bachelor's degree and relevant project management experience

Agency Requirements: Must have 5 years of project management experience. Must be familiar with state procurement and construction guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

Be able to make critical decisions affecting project schedule and budget on behalf of the Agency.
