Basic Functions
The Vice President, Marketing & Corporate Communications is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing plans to increase awareness of METRO services and promote the METRO brand. Has responsibility for management oversight and setting goals for Creative Services, Communication Services, Corporate Communications, marketing research, audio/visual and internal electronic communications. Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures.
Responsibilities and Specific Duties
- Provides primary managerial direction and performs personnel administrative functions of direct report staff (e.g. training, supervising, work assignments, timesheets, performance evaluations, etc.) for maintaining necessary staffing, enhancing productivity of staff and ensuring necessary department outcomes are achieved.
- Responsible for METRO's Marketing division, which manages the agency's prime contract for the advertisement of METRO's services.
- Oversees staff operations and budget development for Marketing & Corporate Communications.
- Monitors all marketing campaigns and makes recommendations for improvements.
- Prioritizes marketing projects and allocates resources as required.
- Provides guidance and direction in the production of public information that explains METRO's services, such as bus system maps and route schedules.
- Oversees the management of METRO's advertising promotions and development of promotional items.
- Prepares regular reports and presentations on marketing metrics and presents to METRO Board of Directors.
- Responsible for graphics, audio/visual, photography support, and internal communications.
- Produces slideshows and video productions, this includes oversight of video for METRO Board meetings.
- Directs market research projects, such as system-wide and individual route surveys to measure customer satisfaction.
- Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications/ Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field.
Minimum ten (10) years professional experience in marketing, advertising, public relations or related field
Outstanding management and organizational abilities. Excellent communications (verbal/written) skills. Strategic mindset and strong supportive leadership skills. Must be proficient in the use of PC's and Microsoft office suite. Knowledge of internet and multimedia communications tools.
