Essential Functions
Assists PI in conducting research and day-to-day operations of the laboratory; plans and prepares specimens and cultured cells; works with animals, records data collection, reads scientific papers and develops new experimental protocols, maintains lab supplies; utilizes a variety of lab equipment to include an autoclave, Coulter counter, pH Meter, table top and floor model centrifuges, gel electrophoresis and electroporation equipment, CO2 incubators, seahorse extracellular flux analyzer and luminometer; maintains lab records; maintains laboratory in an orderly manner; follows appropriate safety procedures for handling biohazardous and highly toxic substances; works weekends as required to maintain cell cultures; trains and checks work of students; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a physical or natural science from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama.
Working Days and Hours
Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
