Nature of Position
- ALAMEDA RECREATION AND PARKS DEPARTMENTMastick Senior Center, a division of the City of Alameda Recreation and Parks Department, provides a well-rounded social recreation program for adults age 50 and older. We are hiring Maintenance Assistants for Saturday work schedules only (8:00 am - 4:00 pm).

SATURDAY SCHEDULE ONLY 8:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. Examples of Duties
The Mastick Senior Center Maintenance Assistant works a flexible, part-time schedule that may include daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. This position may include cleaning bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, emptying garbage and recycling bins, moving furniture and room set-ups, performing general building maintenance work such as overseeing and maintaining the building, equipment, and materials in a clean and orderly condition, performing simple repairs, ensuring building and facilities are secure, and providing information regarding facility use to staff and the public.
Employment Standards
To be considered, candidates must submit a completed City of Alameda Job Application form online. Applicants will be screened and evaluated based on the information provided. Federal law requires that, prior to employment, applicants must furnish proof of identity and eligibility for employment in the United States.
Successful applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment medical examination, as well as a Department of Justice fingerprint check prior to employment. This position has varying hours but may not exceed 28 hours per week.
Part-time positions with the City of Alameda may be eligible for limited benefits and are considered "at-will." Part-time employment is at the discretion of the hiring department.
