Class Description
- THIS IS A NON CIVIL SERVICE POSITION
The City of Baltimore's Department of Human Resources (DHR) is seeking an experienced Graphic Designer to develop and design marketing material for the agencies projects and initiatives. This position will work closely with DHR Staff to provide graphic design services on large and small scale designs.
The Graphic Designer will develop creative marketing collateral for the Department of Human Resources. This position requires an experienced, creative graphic designer with a proven track record who is highly motivated, detail oriented and can work independently. Graphic designers are responsible for conceptualizing, designing and producing visual solutions for a wide variety of formats and dissemination outputs. This position will be required to submit the highest quality forms of communication to different mediums. Selection Process

Graphic Designer job tasks include:- Performs creative artwork in the graphic presentation of facts and ideas for information, exhibition or publicity purposes.
- May plan, design and independently owned graphic design product and produce books, brochures, flyers, posters, banners, slides, charts and signs on a computer desktop publishing system.
- Advises and assists the Department of Human Resources in determining the most effective aesthetically pleasing means of presenting graphic art materials.
- Manage multiple projects and remain flexible through revisions while keeping a keen attention to detail.
- Work collaboratively with design team to ensure creativity and continuity across materials
- Reviewing, editing, and finalizing project
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION: Have a high school diploma or possession of a GED certificate
EXPERIENCE: Have an equivalent combination of education and experience (2 samples of work product must be submitted with application)Supplemental Information
The Department of Human Resources is located at 201 E. Baltimore Street, Suite 300, Baltimore, MD 21202. The successful candidate will work remotely.
