The City of San Bernardino is seeking a Community Engagement Specialist to develop and implement communication strategies to enhance the department's presence in the community.
The preferred candidate will have an Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in journalism, communications, public relations/marketing, or closely related field and experience implementing public relations and marketing strategies to increase effective communications within government agencies or private corporations. Experience in technology including social media, web and mobile applications to leverage their use in internal and external communications is essential. Graphic, video and web design abilities a plus.

Education, Training and Experience:
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined above is graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in journalism, public administration, communications, public relations/marketing, or closely related field.OR
An Associate's degree in journalism, public administration, communications, public relations/marketing, or a closely related field and two (2) years of marketing or public relations experience.
OR
Four (4) years of marketing or public relations experience.
OR
Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
