Our next successful team member can look forward to...
- Providing support and assistance to senior water quality planners working on TMDL implementation plans, water quality improvement plans, and other watershed modeling projects, such as the Clarks Creek Restoration Plan and the Clover Creek TMDL Alternative.
- Participate in technical review meetings, prepare detailed documentation in the form of written plans and reports, summarize findings, and write a variety of memos and letters.
- Provide technical support to the capital improvement program on water quality projects.
- Track TMDL processes, timelines and comment periods, and coordinate County responses to the TMDL process.
- Monitor, track, and make recommendations on state water quality policies, such as Policy 1-11, the State's 303(d) listings, and TMDL programs.
- Prepare, submit, and obtain grants; prepare reports to granting agencies.
- Develop requests for proposals, bids and consultant contracts; provide management oversight of contracts.
- Coordinate activities with SWM staff, County departments, other agencies, and members of the public; represent the Division at internal and external meetings.
- Communicate with watershed councils, community groups, and individuals about water quality and watershed issues.

Qualifications
Our next successful team member will have...
- Bachelor's degree in planning or related field;
- and, two years of related planning work...
- OR any equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Positions in specific program areas may require program-related experience, education, and/or training.
- Experience in local, county, or state planning is desired.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS: Successful completion of all required background checks may be required prior to employment. Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's license, or the ability to obtain the license within 30 days of employment, or otherwise meet the travel requirements of the position.
