Class Summary
The Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources is a publicly-owned utility, committed to providing excellent water, wastewater and stormwater services at the best possible value to the citizens of Gwinnett County. The department is widely recognized for service excellence in the operation of two water production facilities, three water reclamation facilities and 226 pump stations. In addition, DWR maintains 3,667 miles of water lines, 2,654 miles of sewer lines and 1,325 miles of storm water pipe. The Department of Water Resources takes pride in stewardship of the environmental resources entrusted to us and pledge to be responsible as we manage water as a limited, but renewable, resource.
This position is responsible for performing periodic inspections and repairs using predictive (condition based) and precision maintenance technologies such as infrared thermography, vibration data collection/analysis, ultrasound, electrics motor testing, precision alignment, and others. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in industrial maintenance, experience working with predictive or precision maintenance technologies, and training or a certification in one of the following areas:- Infrared Thermography
- Vibration Analysis
- Ultrasound
- Machinery Lubrication Technician
- Maintenance Technologist
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician
This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Gwinnett County Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace.
The Grades for these positions are:
Trades Technician I - A12(3) - $28,639.00
Trades Technician II - B21(3) - $33,803.00
Trades Technician III – B23(3) - $40,057.00
Trades Technician IV – B31(3) - $43,561.00
Minimum Qualifications
Trades Technician I:- High School Diploma or G.E.D.;
- Valid Georgia Driver's License;
- Class A Commercial Driver's License must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
Trades Technician II:- High School Diploma or GED;
- Valid Georgia Driver's License;
- Two years of trades experience;
- Class A Commercial Driver's License must be obtained within 12 months of employment;
- Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Trades Technician III:- High School Diploma or GED;
- Valid Georgia Driver's License;
- Four years of trades experience
- Class A Commercial Driver's License must be obtained within 12 months of employment;
- Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Trades Technician IV: This position may supervise staff to include prioritizing and assigning work and maintaining a healthy and safe working environment.- High School Diploma or GED;
- Valid Georgia Driver's License;
- Five years of progressively responsible trades experience, some of which is in a supervisory capacity;
- Class A Commercial Driver's License must be obtained within 12 months of employment;
- Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
