Description
This entry-level seasonal position is responsible for performing grounds care, facility maintenance and custodial duties at the County Parks and Recreational facilities and County facility grounds.
Examples of Duties
Performs a variety of grounds maintenance work to include: Mowing and trimming; seeding and fertilizing; cutting trees and brush; and ensuring that grounds are clear of debris and free from safety hazards.
Performs a variety of maintenance/repair duties to include: Repairing and installing fences, steps and retaining walls; erosion control and drainage improvement projects; installing and repairing equipment ( i.e. scoreboards, water fountains, lights); constructing and renovating trails, sidewalks and walkways.
Operates machinery involved in: Hauling equipment and materials; maintaining drainage and irrigation systems; tree trimming/pruning; maintains commercial lawn equipment and supplies used, to include cleaning, preventive maintenance and safety inspections
Performs related duties as required.Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from High School or GED Equivalent.
Experience in grounds care, landscaping and/or facility maintenance, or any combination of education,training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities for this position.Possession of a valid Georgia Driver's License.Knowledge, Skill, Abilities/ Supplemental Information
Knowledge of grounds/facility maintenance, practices, and procedures; knowledge of department/division rules and procedures; knowledge of various tools, materials and equipment used to perform landscaping, grounds care and preventative maintenance; ability to operate equipment used in grounds maintenance, construction, landscaping, janitorial duties or any other standard tools of the trade in a safe and efficient manner; effective oral and written communication skills.
