Description

The Nebraska Ethanol Board is seeking applicants for the position of agency Administrator. This is a full-time, exempt position. The Administrator serves at the pleasure of the Board. 

The Administrator reports to the Board and is responsible for a variety of functions including day-to-day management of the agency and all related functions. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to budget development, revenue management and related projections, marketing and public information programs, public policy development and legislative functions, business development and advocacy. Related knowledge, experience and abilities in these areas will be important to the success of the applicant selected. 

Job location is the Nebraska State Office Building, Downtown.

Hours: 40+ with some weekends and travel required.

Examples of Work

The Administrator is responsible for overall administration and management of board activities, programs and personnel. The Administrator works closely with the Board to develop and execute the agency's programs and budget goals. The Administrator is expected to provide leadership, management and mentoring to staff and function as the liaison between board and staff as dictated in organizational structure, personnel policies and procedures. The Administrator works closely with staff to ensure the agency's financial standards, operating policies and program commitments are met. The Administrator is responsible for preparation of annual budgets and for monitoring of legislation that may impact the agency and related programs. The Administrator works closely with private companies in the biofuel sector and with allied industry groups and organizations. The Administrator serves as the primary agency spokesperson and works closely with state agencies, allied industry groups and policymakers. The Administrator is expected to promote the agency and its mission and to represent the Board on relevant association boards. 

Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIREMENT:  3+ years in relevant leadership roles; experience with board management/administration; strong leadership skills, an entrepreneurial spirit and business management/development skills. Strong interpersonal skills, public speaking, writing and media communication skills are essential qualifications. Experience with economic development, business recruitment and marketing are helpful. Demonstrated experience in marketing, project management and revenue management are essential. Experience with public advocacy, fundraising and development/execution of collaborative public marketing campaigns is essential to this position. The successful candidate should have a general knowledge of biofuels, bio-industries, agriculture and business development/recruitment. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of fiscal management, budgeting and cash flow management are required. Knowledge of the legislative process and government operations are important components to this position. The successful candidate should have a general knowledge of biofuels, bio-industries, agriculture and business development/recruitment.
