Job Responsibilities
Provide classroom instruction for students in the area of Surgical Technology. Provide academic advising, assist in graduate placement, assist with assessment and accreditation requirements, attend graduation ceremonies, assist with student orientation/registration, revise curricula, develop new courses, design new programs, revise instruction materials, remain current in teaching field, work on college committees and promote institutional objectives.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree in the teaching discipline, or associate's degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline required.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum requirements as stated above. Prefer graduate of a Surgical Technology Program; minimum of three (3) years' experience in either an operating room scrub role or an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both within the past 10 years. Should be credentialed in Surgical Technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission of Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
