Police Lieutenant - INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY - NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

• Manage shift personnel by establishing goals and objectives; and ensure duties and responsibilities of all officers are carried out efficiently and effectively.

• Conduct performance evaluations; mentor employees, manage work assignments; approve work schedules; resolve operational issues; review and approve written documentation prepared by officers; perform inspections of officers and assigned equipment; and provide counseling and discipline as needed.

• Address administrative issues by providing inter-divisional advice as needed; compile statistical reports for division commander; handle special assignments as directed.

• Recommend policy and procedure modifications; investigate minor citizen complaints; refer non-routine matters to the appropriate person; coordinate in-service training of personnel assigned to shift; serve as jail administrator; design and instruct in-service training; and provide assistance in the department hiring process as assigned.

• Conduct background investigations; manage in-car videotape program; manage the repair and upkeep of all in-car cameras.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.
   
• Subject to 24 hour recall.

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate, and a minimum of two (2) years continuous service as a Missouri City Police Department Sergeant and Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification are required.
