Job Responsibilities
- ***Salary will be based on education and experience. ***
Under limited supervision, the incumbent will develop, provide support, and deploy Judicial Department Software. The incumbent will additionally provide backup support for the Agency DBA on the administration, maintenance, and support of the agency's Microsoft SQL Server instances, backup/restore functions, and server infrastructures.
Troubleshoot, analyze and maintain existing software. Troubleshoot new software. Plan, direct and oversee the design, development and testing of software modifications. Direct the design, development, testing and implementation of special projects. Perform application and database tuning to production applications.
Work with other developers to continually improve development standards. Provide technical assistance and mentoring to lower level developers. Communicate plans, status and issues to management on a regular basis. Work with management to determine release content and schedules. Assist in the preparation of user documentation.
Create release packages and deploy software updates as scheduled. Automate deployment of software where appropriate. Provide technical support and analysis for SCJD applications. Maintain, configure, and support SCJD web and service sites.
Develop application reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.
All other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree in computer science with major course work in system design and development. At least five (5) years of experience in system development and modification. Three (3) years of experience translating business requirements to technical design. Two (2) years of experience directing the work of others in a technical lead role. (Related experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.) Minimal travel may be required.
Experience in the intricacies of information systems. Experience developing complex SQL queries and experience developing and supporting software using Microsoft Visual Studio development tools required. Experience developing reports using Crystal Reports and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to write and revise computer programs. Ability to understand and carry out technical instructions and requests. Ability to analyze and reduce to logical order complex technical data. Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner. Ability to work effectively with users, vendors, and other IT personnel. Ability to develop technical reports in a clear and concise manner. Requires excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive knowledge of the methods and techniques of computer programming and systems analysis. Working knowledge of database design and table relationships. Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and provide solutions to complex problems. Strong development skills using .Net, C#, aspx. WCF, web services and XML. Working knowledge of html, XSLT, Java Script and CSS. Exposure to IIS and website maintenance. Exposure to agile development practices.
Working knowledge of Powershell and TFS desirable.Additional Comments
