Description

The City of Olathe's Resource Management Department is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team. The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing accounts payable for all City payments and related functions. This process includes paying vendors via check, ACH, and virtual purchasing card.Key Responsibilities
- Setup and maintain vendor files, including required Form W-9
- Distribute vendor invoices to departments for approval
- Prepare vendor payments for processing, which includes verifying accuracy of invoice, matching to appropriate documentation, and vouchering in financial accounting system
- Process vendor payments by check, ACH, and virtual purchasing card
- Assist with filing of Form 1099's including submission of required file to IRS
- Assist with reconciliation of purchasing card payments
- Assist with Mayor's Christmas Tree Fund and donations made through Paypal
- Coordinate and file required documentation for unclaimed property with the State of Kansas
- Assist with financial functions, procedures and answering questions from departments and vendors
- Participate in financial accounting system testing during upgrades
- Perform other duties and responsibilities, as required.
Experience & Education
- Experience: Three or more years of experience in accounts payable required; city government experience preferred.
Education: Associate's degree Business Administration, Accounting, or related field required; Bachelor's degree from an accredited college preferred.
Knowledge of: Computer applications and basic principals and procedures relating to accounts payable required. Supplemental Information
