About the Position:
As the Health Services Advisor for KCHA located in Tukwila, Washington, this individual will support the development of a KCHA Health Services Strategic Plan and related policies and practices. Responsibilities will include:- Operationalizing behavioral and physical health strategies through the creation and monitoring of standard expectations and protocols;
- Providing staff support, consultation, and training related to mental and primary health topics;
- Serving as a strategist for meeting the needs of residents with complex needs related to health;
- Managing a caseload of up to 5 complex situations;
- May serve as an executive level advisor and consultant for situations in which there is a potential loss of housing subsidy related to mental health issues;
- Participating in efforts to design programs and services with the goals of better serving KCHA residents;
- Attending and participating in regular department and division meetings;
- Engaging in ongoing professional development as a process of continuous improvement;
- While the primary work location will be in Tukwila, the Health Services Advisor will be supporting residents and staff at KCHA properties and sites; travel will be required (as needed).

Qualifications and Competencies
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in behavioral health or related field and five years of experience within the behavioral health field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive knowledge of best and emerging practices in the field of health services, particularly in behavioral health.
- Well connected to health services providers.
- Analyzes problems, identifies alternative solutions, and implements recommendations; demonstrates critical, creative, and reflective thinking.
- Demonstrates responsible personal and professional conduct, which contributes to the overall mission and goals of KCHA; accepts personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work; ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast paced environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, and database software.
- Works effectively and efficiently to provide quality service to satisfy service expectations; seeks ways to improve service delivery; demonstrates strong project management skills.
- Applies effective written and verbal communication techniques to convey clear and timely messages to internal and external stakeholders; listens to people's ideas and concerns.
- Work effectively and positively with individuals of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and educationally diverse populations; values diversity; treats other with respect.
- Knowledgeable about the health services landscape in areas such as Accountable Communities of Health; the King County Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy preferred.
- Consent to and pass a driver's and criminal records background check.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and own or have access to a vehicle to regularly travel between work sites. Must have an acceptable driving record at time of appointment and throughout employment.

The salary range of this position is $61,324.34 - $82,021.31 annually. Performance based merit increase opportunities and COLAs are reviewed on an annual basis. Work Environment:
Incumbent(s) must be able to meet the physical requirements of the classification and have mobility, balance, coordination, vision, hearing and dexterity levels appropriate to the functions performed. Work is performed in an office environment and at KCHA sites. This position will be required to travel to work sites as needed. Site visits require driving a vehicle and may be conducted in a variety of weather conditions.
