Private Swim Lesson Instructor

The purpose of this contract position is to plan, educate, supervise and evaluate participants in structured, private swim lessons.  The Private Swim Lesson Instructor ensures the safety of private lesson participants utilizing the pool facility and provides premier customer service.  The contract position is responsible for providing an excellent private swim lesson program with responsibilities including, but not limited to, instructing private swim lesson participants in the proper methods of swimming and water safety skills, communicating with parents and other staff, and scheduling swim lessons.  The private Swim Lesson Instructor will also enforce pool rules while working with their participants.

This is a contract position, scheduled to begin June 2, 2018. Earning from swim lessons will be split between the selected instructor and the City, 70% (Instructor) / 30% (City). This position will report to the City's Recreation Coordinator and will work with the Recreation Coordinator to determine appropriate swim lesson fees.
 

• Provides premier customer service to internal and external customers by educating customers, resolving customer concerns, meeting customer needs, responding to requests and helping to maintain a safe and clean pool environment in a professional manner.
• Instructs, plans, prepares and evaluates water safety instruction programs.
• Assists in maintaining related records and statistics for programs and participants.
• Ensures the safety of the general public by enforcing pool rules and regulations.
• Requires regular attendance.

• Less than high school education acceptable. 
• Related experience preferred.
• A current American Red Cross certification in Lifeguarding, First aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Water Safety Instructor or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
