Description
Under general supervision of the Department Director or designee, this position is responsible for the procurement of necessary supplies and equipment for all divisions within the Police Department and maintenance of appropriate inventory records regarding disbursement of said supplies and equipment. Employees in this classification exercise some independent judgment in maintaining sufficient inventory of expendable property. Performs related work as directed.
Examples of Duties
- Responds to requests for repairs and maintenance to equipment and furnishings of the police facility including the movement and transfer of furniture and office relocations.
- Serves as a liaison with janitorial workers and maintenance vendors contracted to perform work at the police facility.
- Participates in the disposal of property.
- Performs routine manual maintenance and repairs to equipment and fixtures.
- Performs data entry for inventory purposes regarding property and vehicles.
- Ensures that employees are properly measured for uniforms, bulletproof vests, and uniform accessories; places orders, distributes, and maintains inventory.
- Orders and distributes office supplies and maintains inventory.
- Assists with surveys and the varied duties of collecting data.
Minimum Training and Experience
- High school diploma or GED; supplemented by three (3) years experience in either storekeeping, warehousing, maintenance of accountable stock, records, and/or forecasting needs for a large supply operation; experience in construction or skilled/semi-skilled maintenance or repair work; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Special Requirement- Florida State Driver's License
