Job Responsibilities

This position is located within the Division of Facilities Management and Property Services. The incumbent will plan for, implement and complete (individually or as a part of a team) assigned maintenance, repair, and renovation general maintenance tasks for Facilities Management owned and contracted buildings. The incumbent will assist with maintenance, repair and renovation tasks of other various trades and complete all daily time sheets and record on all assigned tasks. Furthermore, the incumbent will identify, recommend and request equipment, materials, supplies and training needed to ensure necessary resources are available to complete work tasks and offer guidance, promote teamwork, cooperation, and work to resolve challenges. Performs other duties as required.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

At least a high school diploma and 5 years experience in the installation, repair, or maintenance of building systems. 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of national and local building regulations and code requirements. Knowledge of trade safety practices. Skill in making emergency repairs and adjustments to trade equipment. Must possess a valid South Carolina Class "D" driver's license. Ability to comprehend blueprints, plans, specifications, and equipment manufacturer's technical bulletins. Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to climb and work from ladders, stairs, and scaffolding. Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work in confined spaces; hot, hazardous and noisy locations; and in adverse weather conditions. Position requires 37.5 hours per week and is subject to 24 hours per day off-duty calls. Position may require incumbent to work evenings and/or weekends.
