Job Responsibilities

DMH is a drug-free workplace. All candidates will be required to pass a mandatory pre-employment drug test.

This position is located at Patrick B. Harris Psychiatric Hospital in Anderson, South Carolina.

Under general supervision develops, implements and evaluates nutrition risk screening tool for all new admissions to Harris Psychiatric Hospital, a 200 bed acute care facility. Responsibilities include participation in the team approach to treatment of patients; providing appropriate medical nutrition therapy to patients; communication to  and with production staff regarding provision of  individualized nutrition services for patients'; providing nutrition education to specific patient populations in the hospital and; mentoring student nutrition professionals as they accomplish required competencies in a health care environment.  This employee is knowledgeable of behaviors and levels of functioning of the varied ages and populations served at HPH.
 
 

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State Requirements: A bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics or community nutrition and experience in a clinical, public health or institutional setting; or a bachelor's degree in any field, eligibility for registration by the American Dietetics Association and experience in a clinical, public health or institutional setting.

Agency Preferred:  A master's degree in public health nutrition, community nutrition dietetics or nutrition with 3 years' experience in a related field or a bachelor's degree institutional setting or 4 years' experience in a related field. Must be a Registered Dietitian and have current status as a Registered Dietitian (RD) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and be licensed as an RD in South Carolina (LD). Computrition Experience preferred.
