Examples of Duties
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Plans, assigns, and schedules own workload with direction from facility commander.
- Ensures that work done by work crew is in conformance with established work standards.
- Determines time, staff and material needs and requisitions supplies and materials.
- Performs maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment which include structural repair or remodeling such as: carpentry, cabinet work, furniture repair, installation of doors, windows, etc.
- Performs both routine and complex electrical work such as wiring for data processing equipment, installing and repairing security apparatus and performs electrical work.
- Performs non-standard plumbing at correctional facilities and repairs or replaces broken or leaky faucets, pipes, toilets, sinks and drains; welds and fabricates metal.
- Performs rough carpentry work, cable line installation, concrete, and painting.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance on mechanical heating and air-conditioning equipment.
- May respond to emergency repair requests at the Merced County Adult Correctional Facility.
- Operates and maintains a low pressure boiler system, adjusts heating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, including pumps, condensers, and steam lines.
- Plans, assigns, and schedules own workload with direction from facility commander.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
Two (2) years of experience equivalent to Building Maintenance Worker III in Merced County.
License:
Possess and maintain a valid California Drivers License.
