Field Service Worker II - Streets

Responsible for operation of equipment to build and maintain streets

• Work with equipment operators maintaining and operating crack seal machine
• Performs various skilled duties using hand tools, e.g., picks, shovels, power tools,chain saws and eaters
• Operates lighter equipment such as backhoes, bobcats, dump trucks, and front-end loaders to perform various job duties
• Inspects and checks equipment before and after use, performs minor maintenance activities and reports exceptional problems to supervisor

• May perform in the absence of the equipment operator
• Performs other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• One year experience in road construction or street maintenance
• Must have a valid Class "C" Driver's License prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class "A" driver's license within 30 days of hire per state law)

• Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools
• Ability to effectively follow safety rules and regulations
• Ability to safely and efficiently operate equipment
• Ability to perform physical tasks and handle moderate to heavy lifting
• Ability to satisfactorily work with customers and co-workers
• Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

• Must have a valid Class "A" CDL with tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment
• Must pass a drug test, driver's license check, social security number verification check, and criminal history background check
• Must pass a physical examination
• Must be able to work overtime when requested including nights and weekends
• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions

• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Prior street construction? and patching experience
• Prior experience working with tools involved in street repairs
• Prior experience operating a backhoe
