Examples of Duties
As part of the College's model of professional development, the Director of Curriculum and Assessment assists the College in creating a transformational and sustainable system of support for teaching and learning. The Director leads faculty development and innovation regarding curriculum and instruction. The Director provides guidance and support to faculty in applying advanced instructional design principles to courses and curricula for new/revised courses and program development for multi-delivery formats (i.e., online, blended curriculum). The Director will serve as the liaison to the Academic Affairs & Standards Council to ensure all curricula approvals are processed in a consistent and timely manner. The Director assists with the assessment of student learning for AQIP and the Higher Learning Commission. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Faculty and Staff Development. All employees of Saint Paul College are responsible for promoting a culture that supports diversity and inclusion in all forms as well as providing excellent customer service continuously to all internal and external contacts.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field;
- 3 years' demonstrated professional experience in curriculum development and student assessment;
- Professional experience working directly with faculty and staff in the support, development, and implementation of teaching with technology;
- Experience designing and assessing online instructional materials;
- Experience with Learning Management Systems and instructional technology that enhance the learning experience;
- Experience with designing course- and program-level outcomes;
- Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, religious, gender identity, sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of college students, staff, and faculty.
Preferred Qualifications:- Master's Degree in Instructional design, Curriculum and Instruction, Education, or related field;
- 5 years of demonstrated professional experience in curriculum development and student assessment;
- Experience teaching in a college or university;
- Trained in Quality Matters;
- Experience assisting faculty in assessing student learning;
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
