Job Description
Purpose of Position:
What does the job do?
This position conducts and researches criminal history records for background investigations purposes for the Criminal History Clearing House (CHCH) section of the Department of Public Safety, Law Enforcement Records Bureau.
How does the job get done?
The Section analyst will access multiple databases and give the courts and all interested parties who have authorized access to criminal history background records a comprehensive assessment of bond determinations. This position will provide tactical analysis of complex criminal history information and highly confidential and sensitive personal data from multiple sources to authenticate identities and backgrounds of individuals under investigation. In addition, the incumbent will interpret law enforcement language and apply research methods relating to identification, investigation, and cessation of criminal activity. The CHCH Section Analyst will utilize their analytical expertise of draft preliminary and final reports while adhering to state statutes, federal laws, and agency policies, rules and regulations .

This position is a Pay Band 55.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalency and two (2) years of experience in office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management and/or contract management.
Employment Requirements:
Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results. Must obtain and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Must obtain and maintain a valid Driver's License.Statutory Requirements:

Working Conditions:
This job is conducted in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. This position may require mandatory overtime hours, and will require shift work for a 24/7 operation. Subject to a national fingerprint-based record checks within 30 days of assignment. Continued employment is contingent upon remaining felony-free, per section 5.12.1.1 of the Criminal Justice Information Systems Security Policy.
