Class Summary

The Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources is a publicly-owned utility, committed to providing excellent water, waste water and storm water services at the best possible value to the citizens of Gwinnett County.  The department is widely recognized for service excellence in the operation of 2 water production facilities, 3 water reclamation facilities and 226 pump stations.  In addition, DWR maintains 3,667 miles of water lines, 2,654 miles of sewer lines and 1,325 miles of storm water pipe.  The Department of Water Resources takes pride in stewardship of the environmental resources entrusted to us and pledge to be responsible as we manage water as a limited, but renewable, resource.
 
This position is responsible for planning, designing, reviewing, and monitoring engineering projects for the pipe rehabilitation and replacement program within the stormwater design group of the Engineering & Construction Division.  The position requires knowledge of design practices associated with sizing, locating, and costing small and large Stormwater infrastructure, including culverts and drainage structures.  The position also requires excellent written and oral communication skills for interfacing with consultants, contractors, citizens, and regulatory representatives.  The position requires a working knowledge of several data bases including Lucity and experience with AutoCAD and ArcGIS/Map.  The position requires knowledge of surveying, permitting, and construction associated with stormwater infrastructure. 
 
This position is a Grade C431.
 
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering;
  • One year of Stormwater Infrastructure Design experience;
  • Valid Driver's License from state of residency.
