Purpose of the Position
Open until filled. Application screening (first review) starts February 26, 2018.
Provide support to the Pima County Juvenile Court, Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program with the coordination and delivery of training to new and current CASA advocates.Essential Functions
- Coordinate and facilitate training academies for new CASA advocates who are required to complete pre-service training in accordance to state CASA standards.
- Prepare and facilitate training on topics advocates will use to support victims of child abuse.
- Coordinate feedback surveys or needs assessments to identify the training needs of advocates, prepare presentations and content to address those needs and deliver the training to CASA Coordinators and advocates.
- Provide computer training to advocates to enable their use of the on-line case management systems used to document, track and report on activity and completed tasks.
- Coordinate and facilitate the initial Peer Coordinator training to prepare advocates to advance into the supportive, coaching position of a Volunteer Peer Coordinator.
- Enlist and coordinate with subject matter experts to present training topics relevant to the work of CASA.
- Document and track all training and attendees for reporting to management and to the agency funding the advocate training.
- Organize and coordinate the implementation of a full day of training for advocates on targeted topics to provide knowledge and skills to support their abilities to be effective advocates and to meet required training hours, in accordance to Arizona Administrative Code and Policies for CASA Programs.
- Provide one-on-one training and coaching for advocates to improve on individual areas of need for increased performance, as it relates to advocating for victims.
- Assist with the approval of attendance by advocates to independent learning programs, professional conferences, and external educational programs for training credit.
- Work collaboratively with CASA of Arizona staff and other community agencies to ensure advocates are effectively trained to support victims of child abuse.
- Develop and maintain training materials and procedures for various ad-hoc and in-house training.
- Perform on-going evaluation of the training needs of advocates in addition to evaluating each training session to ensure objectives are met.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree with a major in organizational development, education, communication, business administration, social services or a relevant field of study and one (1) year CASA Program or training work experience; Or, any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.

Must have a valid Arizona driver's license at the time of appointment.PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Typically performs duties in an office environment and may lift materials and/or equipment 25 lbs or less.
