Service Evaluation Analyst I

Prepares data on ridership trends to provide support for METRO's National Transit Database requirements and internal support for Ridership Development initiatives and Social Media inquiries. Develops evaluations, and compiles easy-to-understand results of transit ridership/service evaluation to prepare recurring reports, respond to inquiries, and actively investigate and problem-solve data collection or operational challenges under supervision.  Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures.

• Prepares spreadsheets, tables, charts, and reports on ridership trends and/or forecasts, service productivity, fare or service change impacts, or other similar/related topics
• Participates and/or tracks data collection activities (involving fieldwork assignments)
• Rides METRO fixed-route bus and rail services for service evaluation, monitoring of ridership trends and National Transit Database (NTD) reporting data collection
• Works with Ridership Development personnel to understand data needs
• Works with Ridership Development and Ridership Analysis and Service Evaluation personnel to perform sensitivity analyses for proposed service opportunities
• Serves as divisional liaison with METRO's Social Media group
• Investigates customer concerns / complaints / comments regarding ridership and scheduling issues
• Provides responses for METRO's social media group use in response to customer concerns / complaints / comments
• Assist other department staff and manager as needed on similar and related projects
• Performs related duties as assigned

Bachelor's degree in related field required.

One (1) years' experience in an evaluation or analysis environment preferred.

Very strong analytical skills.  Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, and the ability to manage large datasets accurately
Attention to detail, good organizational skills and time management.  Familiarity with Microsoft Access, statistical software (e.g., SPSS), GIS (e.g., ArcMap) helpful.
