Maintenance Assistant - Part Time Positions

The Maintenance Assistant is a part-time position with varying hours depending on assignment. We are looking for a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and have a helpful and patient attitude. The Park Maintenance Assistant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining Alameda's park facilities, ball fields, and other grounds including park cleanup, janitorial work, garbage pickup, and graffiti cleanup. The Park Maintenance Assistant may also provide assistance setting up for park reservations and conduct other park maintenance work as needed. The schedule for this position varies and may include weekday or off-hour (weekend and night) shifts.
 

SELECTION PROCESS: To be considered, candidates must submit a completed City of Alameda Job Application form online. Applicants will be screened and evaluated based on the information provided. Federal law requires that, prior to employment, applicants must furnish proof of identity and eligibility for employment in the United States.

Successful applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment medical examination, as well as a Department of Justice fingerprint check prior to employment. This position has varying hours but may not exceed 28 hours per week. 

Part-time positions with the City of Alameda may be eligible for limited benefits and are considered "at-will."  Part-time employment is at the discretion of the hiring department.
