Class Description
- A Tow Truck Operator drives and operates a tow truck to relocate impounded, abandoned, damaged, stalled or ticketed vehicles. Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities.Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work shift work which may include evening, weekend, holiday or variable hours. Work is performed in vehicles on the street where inclement weather, traffic hazards and verbal abuse are encountered. Work requires moderate physical exertion.
Selection Process

Minimum Qualifications
- On or before the date of filing the application, each candidate must:
Education: Have graduated from high school or possess a GED certificate.
Experience: One year of experience in operating a tow truck.
Notes (Equivalencies): Three years of experience operating heavy equipment vehicles.
Licenses, Registrations and Certifications: A valid Maryland Class A or B Commercial driver's license, or an equivalent driver's license and eligibility to obtain a Baltimore City driver's permit is required. Supplemental Information
- EXAMINATION PROCESS:
