- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of food service experience in an institutional, hospital, military or commercial food service operation.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
Enrollment in a food service related curriculum at a vocational, trade, or technical institute will substitute for the required experience on a month for month basis.College credit in food and nutrition, dietetics or institutional management will substitute for the required experience on the basis of one semester hour for one month of experience.
NOTE:
Experience which involved no food handling or food preparation, such as washing dishes or bussing tables, will not be considered as qualifying experience.

Any college hours or degree must be from a school accredited by one of the following regional accrediting bodies: the Middle States Commission on Higher Education; the New England Association of Schools and Colleges; the Higher Learning Commission; the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities; the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Receives menu. Prepares and cooks food.
Supervises student offenders on the serving line, regulating quantity of serving sizes.
Directs student offenders engaged in cleaning the kitchen and dining areas, or in washing dishes, pots, and pans.
Maintains security regulations in the food production areas.
Requisitions, receives, stores and dispenses food supplies; maintains security of storage areas and food supplies.
