Description
- Public Health Clinical Services is seeking an Adult Psychiatrist to work in their Mental Health Center at 1801 Nicollet Avenue South, Minneapolis. The Adult Psychiatrist will provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation and ongoing treatment services for a large and diverse population in Minneapolis and surrounding Hennepin County communities. The Mental Health Center is licensed by the state of Minnesota and is staffed by psychiatrists, advanced practice registered nurses, clinical psychologists, psychiatric nurses, clinical social workers, and other health care professionals.

The full salary range for Hennepin County's Psychiatrist job class is $144,144.00 - $238,734.08 annually. The top half of the range is advertised above. Experience will be taken into consideration when determining starting salary.
*This position is recruitment critical and eligible for an employee referral bonus. Current Hennepin County employees who refer candidates may be eligible for a $500.00 referral bonus.
The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include:- Assess and treat persons with mental illness, especially persons with serious and persistent mental illness and persons with co-occurring disorders.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to plan, deliver, monitor, and revise individualized mental health treatment.
- Provide psychiatric/medical consultation to other staff.
- Provide clinical/medical supervision and/or consultation for advanced practice nurses who are prescribing/dispensing psychotropic medication.
- A Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from an accredited school of medicine.
- Completion of an internship and formal residency in adult psychiatry.
- One or more years of professional psychiatric experience beyond residency.
- Possession of a valid license to practice medicine issued by the state of Minnesota and board certification or eligibility for certification in psychiatry.
