Equipment Operator II (2)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Operate backhoe, loader and other construction equipment.
   
• Repair water and sewer leaks.
   
• Perform manual laboring activities.
   
• Assist Crew Leader in setting up laser and/or conventional alignment grading devices.

• Able to be on call during regular off duty hours for emergencies.
   
• Knowledge of principles and methods of operating a backhoe, loader, truck and other equipment.
   
• Knowledge of practices, methods and materials used in construction and maintenance in water/sewer network.
   
• Knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to safety and operation of equipment.
   
• Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment and detect problems with equipment.
   
• Ability to perform manual work.
   
• Ability to follow and understand written and oral instructions.
   
• Skill in cleaning and maintaining equipment.
   
• Skill in operating a truck and trailer for transporting equipment.
   
• Skill in the use of hand and power tools.
