Job Responsibilities
The person in this position will provide primary management and oversight of First Steps' Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership grant, to include supervision of staff, project expenditures, and oversight of local childcare partners. Monitor grant performance and serve as primary internal liaison to federal Office of Head Start, keeping abreast of Head Start Performance Standards and pertinent federal, local, and state regulations/requirements and ensure timely submission of all required reports including the program self-assessment and community assessment. Be responsible for the development and implementation of system-wide program policies, procedures, reporting, and evaluation designed to ensure the project's full compliance with federal, state, and local law and the Head Start (HS) performance standards. Serve as a liaison between Early Head Start (EHS) and First Steps state and local programming, connecting and integrating EHS with First Steps work within local partnerships, Nurse-Family Partnership, Parents as Teachers and others. Serve as a liaison and primary staff support to project Policy Council in the areas of policy formulation and approval, development and implementation of bylaws, and organizational planning and programming. Provide staffing to the SC First Steps Board of Trustees as assigned, to include preparation of materials requested by the Director and Board. Interpret policies and rules of programs administered by the agency. Perform other duties as assigned.
This position is located in the Office of First Steps.Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field and at least two (2) years of supervisory experience required, along with successful grant and/or other management experience. Early Head Start management experience and graduate degree preferred.
