JOB SUMMARY:
Assigned to work with the Rice County Engineering DepartmentExamples of Duties
Assist survey crew, perform materials sampling and testing, project inspection and documentation and other duties as assigned. Communicate effectively with the public, contractors and engineers. Requires work on roads, ditches, fields and highway right of way where exposure to weather, dusts, exhaust fumes and heavy construction traffic may exist.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED and valid Driver's License. Requires walking, standing, lifting, and bending to a significant degree. Must be 18 years of age or older. Ability to work extended hours and some Saturdays required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous related experience or education in construction management, engineering and/or surveying. MNDOT Technical Certifications: aggregate Production, Grading and Base I & II, Concrete Field I.Supplemental Information
HOURS: Variable, Monday - Friday with some Saturdays. Seasonal position with an approximate start date of June 1, 2018 and an approximate end date of September 1, 2018.
