Primary Responsibility
This temporary, part-time position will perform general courtroom duties and provide security during municipal inmate advisals in the detention facility setting.
Examples of Important and Essential Duties
- Adhere to policy, procedures, and post orders.
- Prepare the courtroom for advisals, to include set up of audio/visual equipment
- Supervise inmates during court advisal, escort inmates within the detention facility, search inmates and cells for contraband
- Assemble inmates in the courtroom for advisal hearing
- Develop and maintain working relationships with members of the legal community to include attorneys, judges, court personnel and other law enforcement agencies
- Prepare a variety of reports
- React effectively and safely in emergency situations
- Reports to the Transport Section Sergeant
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Adhere to policy, procedures, and post orders.
Requirements
Required:
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Must have High School Diploma or GED
- Must have correctable vision to 20/40
- Ability to be assertive and self-motivated
- A valid Colorado Driver's License
- Previous law enforcement or corrections experience
- Current or previous POST Certification is preferred
At this time the proposed schedule for this position would be Monday through Friday for approximately four hours per day. Any variations to judge availability, volume of inmates needing advisals, or other facility considerations may alter the schedule to increase or decrease the hours each day. This position will not be required to work holidays or weekends.
