Description
OPEN UNTIL FILLED
Under the general supervision of Guest Services Manager or the Concession Manager, to provide timely and efficient services to guests and customers, and operate registers for zoo concessions. Prepare and distribute basic food concessions to the guests; take stock and inventory of all items sold and distributed through the concession stand; help maintain and stock store before, during, and after each work day. Housekeeping and cleaning duties are performed as needed throughout the day.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
This position exercise no direct supervision over other employees.Examples of Duties
Professionally interact with customers and employees.
Operate cash register.
Follow cash handling policies and procedures.
Prepare food items following specific policies and procedures.
Restock concession merchandise.
Clean and inspect concession equipment.
Assure safe food handling practices.
Assure cleanliness of interior and exterior concession areas.
OTHER JOB RELATED DUTIES
Perform other job related duties and responsibilities as assigned.Typical Qualifications
Knowledge of:
Basic math skills.
Proper food handling skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Skill to:
Interact with zoo guests in a professional and polite manner.
Ability to:
Read, write and understand the English language and follow written and oral instructions.
Provide an excellent guest experience.
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, both internally and externally.

Experience and Training Guidelines:

Experience:
This is an entry level position, but preference may be given to individuals with previous restaurant or food handling experience.
Education/Training:
A high school diploma or G.E.D. is peferred.
Proper food handling training.
License or Certificate:
First Aid Certification.
Special Requirements:
Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment:
Must be able to work a flexible work schedule that may include some nights, holidays and most weekends.
With or without accommodation, ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
