Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for Clinical Laboratory Scientists II who perform a wide variety of complex laboratory procedures and analysis. Duties include performing a wide variety of analytic laboratory procedures and learning applicable laboratory policies and processes in the areas of Chemistry, Serology, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Blood Bank and Microbiology. Duties include specimen evaluation and awareness of pre-analytic processes; instrument maintenance; performance of quality control; accurate, and efficient analysis of patient results using standardized routine and specialized procedures to determine the presence or absence of abnormal results; evaluation of patient data for accuracy and proper reporting of critical results to appropriate healthcare practitioners; appropriate troubleshooting and follow up for aberrant or questionable results; accurate documentation and communication with superiors and other appropriate staff for non-routine occurrences and performing qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis of blood, urine, and other body fluids; and preparing stains, medias, and reagents for cultures.
Most vacancies are for the evening and night shifts, which includes differential pay; opportunities to move to day shift are available based on seniority.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
1) ARMC is a twenty-four hour facility; applicants must be available to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays. Night standby pay available. Shift differentials apply. 2) Incumbents are routinely exposed to dangerous chemicals and infectious materials. Minimum Requirements
- Candidates must possess all of the following:
License: Must possess and maintain a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license issued by the State of California, Department of Public Health. Note: a limited license is not considered qualifying; license must have a "MTA" prefix.
Experience: One (1) year of full-time experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
Shift Availability: Must be available to work ALL SHIFTS (Day, Swing, Night, Rotating and Weekend). Desired Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have received medical technology training in a National Accrediting Agency for the Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) approved institution and/or teaching hospital. Candidates with acute care hospital experience are preferred.
