Laborer (DOT)

The work of this position involves performing manual work on a paving, construction or maintenance crew.

Performs landscaping work such as seeding and cutting grass, trimming trees and bushes; serves as flagger on paving and construction projects; places and finishes concrete for driveways, sidewalks, curb, gutters, and drainage structures; removes trash, limbs and debris from county roads, culverts, creeks, drainage areas; loads and unloads stone, gravel, dirt, asphalt, and pipe; assists in repairing bridges, culverts and other structures; shovels gravel, dirt and asphalt and holds a survey rod and chain to assist in land surveying projects; operates hay blowers, weed eaters, chain saws and other maintenance equipment; performs related duties as required.

Graduation from High School or GED equivalent. 

Experience performing related work is preferred.

Possession of a valid Georgia divers license.

Skill in performing routine manual work with the ability to lift heavy articles; ability to understand and follow oral instructions; skill in using hand and power tools; ability to effectively work as a member of a team.
