Description

The City of Olathe is actively seeking a GIS-Systems Analyst to plan, design, develop, and maintain efficient GIS, utility billing and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and other department information systems in support of core departmental functions for the Public Works Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyzes business application requirements for functional areas of Public Works.
  • Documents software specifications.
  • Designs, implements, and maintains department's utility billing and CMMS systems.
  • Designs, implements, and maintains GIS data processes, and applications to support Public Works.
  • Provides consultation, education, and guidance to stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to assess business requirements and develop strategies for application development and integration with business data.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves application issues.
  • Coordinates and oversees data collection.
  • System QA/QC process and maintenance.
  • Information management including data integrity, process documentation and data dissemination.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience & Education

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION GUIDELINES
Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is acceptable. A typical way to obtain knowledge, skills and abilities would be: 
Experience:  3 to 5 years recent experience with ESRI's geographic information system software and  work order/asset management system experience preferred.  Must also have experience in report writing,  SSRS and/or Crystal reports, and ability to exercise independent judgment in planning, organizing, and performing system analyst tasks. 
 
Education:  B.A or B.S. in Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Physics or related field required. 

Supplemental Information

Licenses:  At least 2-3 SQL certifications required. Must have a valid driver's license with a favorable driving record

Successfully pass background investigation, pre-employment physical and drug screen.
