Overview
Employment Status: Full-time, probationary "exempt" position.
Work Schedule: Generally, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.First Review Deadline: This position will remain open until filled. Applications will be reviewed beginning August 31, 2017.
Typical Activities
Under minimal supervision of the Director of Administrative Computing and Business Intelligence, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting production, ongoing development, upgrades and enhancements to CSUSB enterprise administrative applications in support of Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, Administration and Finance, University Advancement. The incumbent will perform the following job duties:
- Support of PeopleSoft Applications specifically, but not limited to Student Administration.
- Create routine to complex reports, data extractions, and data/system interfaces from campus systems that cannot be met by current end-user reporting solutions.
- Review release notes for database and application upgrades and patches.
- Investigate all system updates for technical changes that affect supported software, data integrity, or system processing effectiveness.
- Resolve support issues and provide solutions to the functional team.
- Other duties as prescribed in the Classification and Qualification Standards of the CSU for an Analyst/Programmer at the career level.
The core functions of the Analyst/Programmer are:
Technical support for PeopleSoft Applications- Provide technical support to all PeopleSoft users. Responsible for supporting production, ongoing development, upgrades, and enhancements to Oracle/PeopleSoft Enterprise Resource Management system.
- Create/maintain/enhance custom reports, queries, and data extracts. Design custom PeopleSoft pages and views as needed.
- System integration to and from PeopleSoft to other vendor and campus systems.
- Write SQR processes to automate business processes
- Will work with the user community to understand data access and integration needs of the financial aid and/or Admissions office.
- Provide system team progress on major issues that impact staff's ability to function and/or operate FA and Admission system processes or procedures.
- Responsible for testing upgrades, business processes changes, and automation of the FA and Admissions processes.
Technical Support as needed in other area- Technical Support for other applications such as OnBase or other imaging systems, Hobsons, Cal State Online, etc
- Technical Support for integrations to other systems
- Team player for Administrative Computing & Business Intelligence projects
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must possess the following:
- Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field along with three years of professional experience programming and creating complex SQL queries (additional relevant experience may be substituted for academic work).
- 3-5 years' experience in PeopleSoft Application Development using Application Designer. PeopleSoft/ People Tools environment with Data Mover, PS Query, SQR, People Code, Application Engine or related tools Oracle Database programming- PL/ SQL.
- Extensive working knowledge of PeopleSoft security; relational database design; and data warehouse concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to independently identify and solve complex production problems.
- Demonstrated ability to work with outside systems integration.
- Position requires clear, positive, solution-oriented communication to translate user needs into effective technical solutions.
Preferred- Experience in a University environment along with experience in PeopleSoft/ People Tools environment with Data Mover, PS Query, SQR, People Code, Application Engine or related tools Oracle Database programming- PL/ SQL
- Experience doing development in PeopleSoft as it is related to the functions of the Financial Aid Office and/or Admissions Office
- Experience with Imaging software
- CSU system experience a plus
