Description
- This is a Continuous Posting: First review July 24, 2017 and every 2 weeks thereafter until the positions are filled.
JOB OBJECTIVES:
Assist with the organization, planning, and implementation of a variety of recreation activities in AM/PM programs along with supervision of Recreation Leader I and II's as assigned and a wide variety of populations. Job Requirements
- DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
This position is distinguished from Recreation Leader I and II by the supervision exercised over these leaders as assigned and the supervision of a program, event or site as assigned. The Childcare Provider Director assist Coordinators in executing planned events, programs and the supervisor of a specific site, event or activity. This classification reports directly to the person assigned to supervise the specific program or site.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Receive supervision from Coordinator or Recreation Supervisor. Exercise technical and functional supervision over assigned Recreation Leader I and II's. Essential Functions
- POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES- May include, but are not limited to the following programs; special events, senior citizens services, instructional classes, cultural and special events, adult or youth sports, aquatics, preschool, youth or teens.
- Maintain awareness of new developments in the recreation field and offer suggestions to the Coordinator.
- Supervise and implement the execution of an activity, event or program with minimal direction.
- Exercise the necessary supervision of personnel to meet the needs of the activity, event or program.
- Communicate incidents, decisions and issues pertaining to activity, event or program to assigned supervisor, parents and school admintrators.
- Supervise and implement the distribution, care, use of supplies and equipment for assigned programs.
- Respondsible for the completion and filing of accident and statistical reports, incidents and issues pertaining to program proceedings as required.
- Able to make appropriate decisions as needed regarding personnel, activity, event or program.
- Perform on-site program inspections and evaluations to ensure compliance with program and city safety policies and procedures.
- Attend meetings and trainings as assigned.
- Some positions will require the performance of additional position accountabilities.
- Assist with other recreation programs as requested.
- Perform related duties, as assigned.
- Help with special events during the school year and including the 4th of July during the summer. These events are evenings and some weekends.

CRITICAL SKILLS/EXPERTISE:
- Knowledge of Department of Health Services standards and safety concerns associated with the care of assigned populations.
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment in accordance with program and city policies and procedures for participants, patrons, co-workers and self.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing any incidents, decisions and issues pertaining to activity, event or program to assigned supervisor.
- Experience, education and/or training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities to meet the needs of the program MAY BE REQUIRED in some areas.

- ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical Requirements:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Work Environment:
Position is subject to environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
Position is subject to noise, and/or vibration.
License or Certificate:
The folliwng is required CPR, AED and First Aid within one month of hire date, two personal references and 2 professional references. Fingerprint Clearance Card and TB test are required at the time of hire. Additionial documentation required by the Department of Health Services can be requested at time of job offer.
