Installs, maintains and repairs electrical systems, equipment and appurtenant fixtures; performs skilled work in the installation, testing, maintenance and repair of operational electronic equipment and electronic component parts; and performs other related duties as required.

Note: Calculation of experience is based on full-time, 40-hour work weeks. Part-time experience must be pro-rated. Example: Twelve months of experience at 20 hours per week is equivalent to six months of experience. In addition, hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week will not be credited. Example: Twelve months of experience at 60 hours per week is equivalent to one year, not one and one-half years.
Training and Experience: Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to competently perform the journeyman level skills and duties of this position.
License Requirement: Possession of a journeyman electrician's license; and possession of an appropriate valid Hawaii State driver's license, as required.
Knowledge of: principles and theory of electricity and electronics; practices, tools, equipment and materials used in the electrical and electronic trades; installation, maintenance and repair of electrical/electronic equipment, apparatus and instruments; testing equipment and testing procedures in maintaining and repairing electronic components; hazards involved in working around energized lines and equipment; safety practices of the trades.
Ability to: read and interpret blueprints, plans diagrams and schematics of electrical and electronic circuits; plan electrical wiring installations; make minor modifications to electrical and electronic circuits; install, maintain, test, repair and troubleshoot electrical/electronic systems and equipment; estimate material requirements; work with dexterity and safety; understand and follow oral and written instructions; maintain good working relationships with others, handle weights and loads.
