SALARY: *Full-time: $7,203.45 - $8,476.36 Monthly
*Part-time 3/5: $4,322.07 - $5,085.82 Monthly
*Daily as needed: $389.71 Daily

Los Angeles Superior Court is seeking dynamic, well-qualified, and highly-motivated Court Reporters to fill full-time, part-time 3/5 (3 days per week), and daily as needed positions.

Los Angeles Superior Court is the largest unified trial court in the United States with nearly 600 courtrooms presided over by 550 bench officers and 4,500 full-time employees. The Court has 38 Court locations, serving 88 cities, and 118 law enforcement agencies countywide.
Court Reporters are responsible for providing accurate verbatim reporting of proceedings in all required or requested court hearings. Incumbents are responsible for reading aloud reported proceedings at the direction of the Court, provide realtime reporting services to judicial officers, and preparing transcripts in accordance with applicable Government Code, Rules of Court, and Statutes. BENEFITS (full-time)
- Options Benefit Plan - Benefits may be purchased using a tax free monthly benefits allowance between $899.49 - $1,938.73 (based on number enrolled in medical coverage). If the monthly cost of the benefits selected is less than the monthly allowance, the employee receives the difference as additional taxable pay. Medical, dental, disability, life and AD&D insurance, and health and dependent care spending accounts are available in Options.
- Deferred Compensation Plan (457) - Optional tax-deferred income plan that includes a County match of up to 4% of employee's salary.
- Vacation - All permanent employees are eligible to earn paid vacation based on years of service. Vacation time may not be used during the first six months of employment.
- Sick leave - Depending on the length of service and employment categories, up to one day of full pay per month of service is accrued monthly for qualifying service.
- Holidays - 13 days per year
- Bereavement leave
- Retirement Plan - A retirement plan is provided to full-time, permanent employees
- The Commuter Benefit Plan (CBP) - Allows employees to pay for eligible public transit expenses using pre-tax dollars (up to IRS limits).

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS:To qualify, you must meet the following selection requirements at the time of filing:- A current Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR) license issued by the Court Reporters Board of California;
- Realtime reporting capability*;
- Computer-Aided Transcription (CAT) capability; and
- Paperless writer equipped with 1 form of removable memory in addition to internal memory.
*Court Reporters are required to provide realtime reporting to judicial officers after an optional 90-day acclimation period.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will possess the following desirable qualifications. This is not a mandatory requirement:- Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR)
Additional bonuses, if qualified:- 2.75% Realtime Certification Allowance
- 5.5% Realtime Bonus
LICENSES; CERTIFICATES; SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:A valid California Class C driver's license or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions, and a current Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR) license issued by the Court Reporters Board of California.
